The Team of MAIA onlus
Lorenzo Durante Viola was born in Padua in 1988. After studying humanities at Tito Livio high school in his hometown, he began graduate studies at Padua University in Development Cooperation and then moved to Trento where he graduated in International Studies. It is here that he begins its engagement with MAIA onlus in 2010. He follows the association since its foundation focusing on the one hand on socio-political research activities on the field, in Palestine, which will be the subject of both his BA and MA dissertations; on the other, on the administrative and managerial aspects related to the growth and development of the organization. After moving to Brussels to continue his studies, he enrolled in a Masters in European Studies of the Université Libre de Bruxelles, where he obtained the Master title in 2013. Although far from Trento, he has continued to follow the activities of MAIA both indirectly and directly, traveling to Palestine for a feasibility study mission in autumn and winter of 2013. He was elected president of MAIA on June 21, 2014 and since then coordinates the work of MAIA team.
Sofia Verza was born in Rovigo in 1991. After having studied at the scientific high school of her hometown, she has began studying “European and Transnational Law” at the University of Trento. Here she starts her involvement with MAIA in 2012, when she travels to West Bank for a reportage project focused on local associationism. Starting from this experience, the photographic exposition “Cooperation beyond the limit” and the training course “New tools of cultural cooperation” took place. Nowadays she is the referent for the aspects of journalistic investigation carried out by the association and she is following the realization of the Palestine Poetry Network web platform. She was elected vice-president of MAIA in June 2014.

Paola Zichi was born in Sassari in 1989. After studying Humanities at D. A. Azuni High School, he left Sardinia in 2008 to study at the Faculty of Law of the University of Trento. After a academic research period spent at the Ecole Normale Superieure in Lyon, she graduated in March 2014. Nowadays she lives in London, where she is going to start a PhD at the Gender and Law Department at SOAS University in september 2015. She engaged with MAIA Onlus association from the first moment of its constitution, in 2010. During her studies she took part in several cooperation projects designed to childhood and education, as the ones at the Woman Centre in the Refugee Camp of Jenin and at the Al-Noor Blind School. In Trento she handled some managerial and organisational aspects of the association, running the administrative office and organizing events. From 2012 she is a member of the Executive Council. She is currently involved in the Reportage Project and implementation of the “Palestine Poetry Network” platform.
